1 Year Down, 2 To Go!

So I've decided that I'm not the worlds most consistent blogger. I think my original goal was to post at least once a month...yeah right. Well I promise I will work hard at doing better. The sun frequently peeks out and sweaters are put far far away, so I'm determined to have much more to write about. The warm weather has even given the dogs an extra activity, fly chasing. Sometimes scares the heck out of me when you think they are dead asleep and one of them instantly jumps and snaps at something in the air.

Well in my blogging absence, life has been well and very fast paced! Let me think, I had my 24th birthday last month filled with an English Tea Room, a new Wii Console, and "mid-twenties" cracks from my OLDER husband! Its also PCS season in the military which means its a time to meet new people, and say goodbye to others. June has seem to be filled with weekly Farewell or Retirement parties, meaning lots of cooking and dish tasting, thank goodness for all those guinea pigs at the fire station. My sister Berit also came for a 3 week visit to spend some time with her firefighter. She and I had lots of time to hang out every other day when they guys were at work. We enjoyed days in London, pubs, shopping, and then her last Saturday here, the 4 of us took a London trip to the Absolute Ice Bar...

A place we will surely be going back to!

We've also received some good news about both our jobs! Not only will Jonny finally be out of the alarm room and back on the floor August 1st, he will be working at station 3 on Feltwell for about 3 months. You can literally see the station and trucks from our front door. Also, last week I was offered and accepted the Studio Manager position at the photography studio I've been working at for the past 6 months.

Furthermore, we have a few things coming up for us here in July. I'm planning a visit back to Colorado for the last two weeks of July, and if leave/vacation days work in our favor, hopefully we will have a couple short 3 day trips to attend the Highland Games in Northern Scotland, and a visit to Western Ireland. I've heard Shannon and Kerry are amazing, so we'll see what pans out! We've been to quite a few places throughout England, but now that I've finally received an updated, valid tourist passport, we're looking forward to getting around to a few new places. Looks like we'll be spending our Thanksgiving with Royal Caribbean cruise line as well, thank you raise!

So that's where we are at, 1 year later. It's hard to believe that we've already been in England for a whole year. Jonny arrived June 16th 2009, and we've only got til June 15th 2012. We looked at each other and said, oh man, we've got to get busy! It's been a really good year so far, of course started out a bit rough and came with some major adjustments, but England has turned into our home. Jet noise is comforting and familiar, street lights are long and obnoxious, and London is like a big playground. We know that when 2012 comes around we will be excited for the convenience of America, (assuming that's where the Air Force sends us) but it will be sad to leave this beautiful country, our favorite pub, and fresh market days.
