Surprise baby! Boy or girl? Nobody knows! We had our fetal growth scan appointment in radiology Tuesday the 14th where they take pictures and measurements of all different parts of the baby. Head, feet, heart, spine, kidneys, everything. Then typically after an hour of waiting, they check and let you know pink or blue, or for us, Aidan or Grace. These appointments usually last anywhere from 30min to an hour, depending of the position of the baby. Well our little one must have been taking a nap like its daddy because it just simply couldn't be bothered at 2pm. The tech wasn't able to get a few of the shots she needed to complete the appointment, and the baby was certainly in no position (with its legs literally crossed) for us to tell boy or girl. So our appointment lasted 1.5 hours before the tech gave up and scheduled me to come in today in the AM, hoping that would be a better time for baby. Sorry everyone, we lied yesterday =) We did go back in today with higher hopes. I woke up early and moved around a lot, ate a good breakfast, did some exercise, even drank a cup of coffee to keep this baby up and moving for our 1030 appointment. When she started the ultrasound, she started out with a "Oh thank goodness!" My planning had seemed to work. Baby was in a great position...for the scans...however, not in a good position to tell what it was! I said yesterday its legs where crossed, well today, it was hanging out with its knees and thighs together. I mean seriously? She showed me on the screen and everything. Sure enough, laying there with its knees crunched together. So after getting up, stretching, wiggling around, and praying for a miracle, we tried again. Baby said no deal. So it looks like we are learning to have more patience, as now we have no idea when we will find out the sex of the baby. Looks like January or February...or March. I'm not making any plans about it! We'll just do what we always do and go with the flow and wait for it all to play out. As of now, baby is growing and healthy weighing 1.4lbs and approximately 8 inches, so everything looks good which of course we're happy about!
