Well it has been many months since my last post...I credit it all to general laziness and the lack of anything interesting to say =)I originally created the blog hoping to document and share all of our fun crazy England adventures! Well turns out, England isn't all that crazy. In fact, its old. I mean, really old. But we all know that. I think we had expectations and thoughts that living in England meant a 3 year vacations...not so much! We've had a great time thus far, but have been so busy with reality that our fun crazy adventures have turned more into new and different day to day adventures. We had a new adventure begin in August when we found out (while I was back home visiting friends and family in Colorful Colorado) that we'd be having a baby 8 months down the road. Thankfully, I was one lucky lady and had what I think is probably the easiest pregnancy of all time. I was constantly being freaked out by other peoples horror stories and "Just you wait for (fill in awful detail here) to start..." but never had to endure any of it. I (and my husband for that matter!) were truly blessed with smooth sailing. Our only hiccup was scan after scan, our little baby was keeping its sex a secret. Week after week...we nearly went to Cambridge to pay for a specific gender scan just to find out! But thankfully I was once again lucky with an awesome Midwife who did the scan at the base hospital so we didn't have to wait any longer. So finally at 28 weeks we found out it was a girl! Now I'm always so surprised when people tell me they're having a boy or girl...I forget that usually you find out the sex much sooner than I did! Once we found out, a wonderful friend of mine from Colorado Springs made us 3 super cute cakes to have sent to our families. The cakes were colored bright pink, so when they cut into it, they knew. When you live so far from family, and have a 7 hour time difference, any and all news to share is delivered via email nearly 90% of the time, phone if you're lucky. If we were in Colorado Springs we would have done something fun, creative and together to share the news, so the next best thing was fun and creative. I had read about "Sex Parties" (don't worry, a non-dirty kind!) or "Gender Revealing Showers" where the parents and guests all find out the sex of the baby together. Now I am not patient enough for something like that, but liked the idea. Thus the cakes! And thank goodness for skype, so we could video chat with each family as they received and ate the news. Which reminds me...if you're in the C/S area and in need of a cake, check out www.mynewcakehobby.blogspot.com
She did a wonderful job giving us such a fun family memory. Now here we are in May, with our baby girl Grace, who is 5 weeks old! A whole new adventure we're still beginning
