Here to share my own little adventures in day to day life. I’m married to a USAF Firefighter, have a new baby girl, & live overseas in the UK. For now I'm going to enjoy this 3rd and last year living in England with my beautiful family & we'll see where the world takes us!

Baby Love
I have to lead off with the fact that I believe it was roughly 10am when I began writing this post. It is now 8:43 pm. Someone I know decided that naps weren't the cool thing to do today, so I left this tab open on my laptop all day with high hopes of making it back sometime before tomorrow. Success =)
So I mentioned in my last post how I've started adding purees to Graces diet. Not on a super consistent schedule, but I like to try and include them about 1-2 times a day. We are on the WIC overseas program, so they provide all the baby food jars we would need, but to be honest, I cant imagine feeding that to her. So many moms talk about how feeding time is this horrific experience because their baby won't eat their purees. But if someone was trying to force feed me a jar of bananas that was made who knows how long ago, and doesn't expire for 3 years, I cant say I'd open wide myself. So I've decided to simply make Graces baby food. We have local Farmers Markets with fresh fruits and veggies multiple times a week, and you just cant beat something like 5lbs of peaches for $1.50. That will feed all three of us for as long as the peaches are good! When we took a trip to Germany this past February, I stumbled across a baby cookbook called "Baby Love"
I read through it the whole 8 hour drive home. Loved it. It has recipes beginning with babys first purees up through the toddler years. I never imagined it would be so easy. 15 minutes to make nearly 2 weeks of pears for Grace today. We've done apples, sweet potatoes, bananas, and peaches. Tomorrow its peas. All you need is a 4 quart pot, a knife, cutting board, blender, and ice cube trays. The other great thing is I know exactly what I'm feeding my daughter because, well, I made it.
So check out the book! Here is the Amazon link...

Totally worth the $12...you'll save way more than that by making your own baby food rather than buying it from the stores!
Gracie loving her some sweet potatoes!
