Jonny's First Couple of Weeks

It has been a great and busy 16 days for Jonny in England! Luckily, he didn't suffer from too much jet lag so was able to enjoy everything right away! He has been residing in a hotel on base since arrival and will hopefully be moving into our new home July 10th. He's enjoyed the hotel, but is ready to get into our new place! He and a friend from the fire department at Lakenheath went to view the house this past Saturday and if all goes well, will be signing the let agreement this Saturday. We were lucky enough to find a 4 bedroom detached house in the great village of Downham Market, Norfolk, England. We will be living approximately 30 minutes north of the RAF base. I can't wait to get over there in 2 weeks and see it myself!

Jonny and I are able to talk through Skype almost daily, the 7 hour time difference does occasionally make it difficult! But he has said the land is beautiful, the people are very nice and welcoming, and the weather is similar to Colorado, only recently, less rain than we have had believe it or not! Last week he spent in driving classes and fortunately passed his UK drivers test with flying colors! He says driving on the "wrong" side of the road isn't that strange since everybody else is doing it, but the narrowness of the side streets is a different story. While finding a house to rent was his task last week, now that he has his licence, Jonny hopes to find a car (or two) this week! In addition to his classes, he has been spending free time getting to know the area by taking some drives and visiting local pubs with his friend, Brady, that he went to tech school with. Which reminds me, I need to ask how he's enjoying warm, English beer =) He and Brady actually drove to Cambridge this past Friday and saw the movie Transformers which I am told is VERY good. For those of you who have not heard I did receive my military issued passport last week and the paperwork for my UK visa went out this past Tuesday. I currently have reservations to leave July 14th, however if my visa arrives sooner I may be able to catch an earlier flight out! We shall see! As for now I am picking up classes and shifts at The Little Gym, its great to get another chance to say good-bye and to see all the wonderful kiddos! I have realized it will be very hard to find a job once I arrive, now that I have spent the past year in the perfect work environment! I am however, keeping my fingers crossed that somebody will feel the desire to open up a Little Gym closer to where we will be =) But until that happens, I will be wherever God puts me! And that I am looking forward to!
