Time is passing very quickly at our humble abode here in Norfolk England. Winter is upon us as we got our first actual snow this week with rumors of more to follow, and Christmas time is definitely in the air and only 25 days away! Our tree is up, stockings are hung, and soon we'll be overloaded with Holiday treats and parties to attend. No complaining on this end =) Our fall season was wrapped up with Jonny and my nontraditional Thanksgiving Day celebration in London. We took a bus into central London and enjoyed the day touring the Tower of London, riding the London Eye, and then finished up the day with a Medieval Banquet for a late dinner.
We started off at the Tower which holds so much of Britains history, as it was founded by William the Conquer with the first tower, the White Tower, built in the early 1000. Much has happened throughout the years, and now it is managed by the Historic Royal Palaces and holds Britains Crown Jewels, an Armour exhibition including 500 years of royal armor, and many of Londons old, dark, histories. They also have a cafe with a fabulous afternoon cream tea =) Then around 4pm we began our 45 minute flight on the London Eye. From the top of the farris wheel, you can see approximately 40km and they say on a clear day, you can even see as far as Windsor Castle. By the time we got on it was completely dark, but it was so extravagant to see the whole city lit up building to building, but also with a few holiday flares here and there. Then after the Eye we had some time to kill so enjoyed the Christmas market on the riverwalk with some Italian cheesy garlic bread made by a Belgium to snack on before dinner. The Medieval Banquet was...interesting...to say the least. A neat experience that we probably won't ever do again =) But the rest of the day was fun and we had a wonderful time. Were definitely ready to hit the pillow when we finally got home at 1am. So sorry to everyone we promised to call on Thanksgiving. We were home much later than expected and probably would have just fallen asleep talking to you anyways =)
Now as of tomorrow we will be 21 weeks in our 40 week baby countdown and hopefully finding out the sex of our little nocturnal gymnast in just a few short weeks! I don't know how those who want to be "surprised" do it. January couldn't come fast enough. We've started our registries and are learning, or reading about, all the ins and outs of cloth diapering (which yes, we will be trying!)and just waiting for our "fun filled" radiology visit for the growth scan. I use quotations because while I am super excited to find out boy or girl, I'm not so excited about the part where they make me drink a gallon of water and then push down on my bladder for 15 minutes...seriously makes me wonder if these technicians have ever been peed on. I feel it's had to of happened before. Maybe I'll ask.
This Sunday will be Jonnys 27th birthday. He works odd days this month so he'll be on shift on the 5th, so Saturday on the 4th we're heading to a local pub, which one is yet to be known, with a few friends to celebrate. Then Thursday the 9th is our squadrons Christmas Part, and Friday the 10th we leave for Paris for a long weekend! See, January will be here before we know it =)
Below is a sideshow of our pictures from Thanksgiving, once again, Happy December and everyone all over the world, stay warm!
